And name calling? Whether "phobe" (Islamophobia, homophobe) and "bigot" on the left wing or "bleeding heart," "social justice warrior" on the right wing, no one has shut up their opponents by heaping invective upon them. It just feels good
Books, Podcast and Documentaries Don't Work
Other vehicles for changing the other guy's mind include a plethora of books, podcasts, articles, white papers and documentaries which, if you'd only watch, would change your mind forever. Key word: would.
How many people voluntarily watch the other guy's message-gory or tear-jerking or both?
But what about social media? Certainly, echo chambers that preach to the choir produce the warm, fuzzy feeling of being right and loved for being right by friends who are also right and number in the thousands.
But they don't change someone's mind like the personal experience of being mugged--or discriminated against does.
