One of the ultimate effects of global warming will be rioting against the powers that continue to ignore the needs of the people of the world. Perhaps we need to pre-empt that rioting through a non-violent movement that would make the King marches, the Chicago convention protests and Watts riots look like homecoming rallies a movement that would ultimately take its scope beyond the boundaries of any single country and march behind a symbol like the Wiphala. The establishment would provide the violence, and the marchers would once again be its jailed and beaten victims.
Are you ready to go that far? How else can we recapture the synergy of the Kennedy era? How else can we find the leadership the world needs?
The hope is that Ray McGovern and his ilk are the Thomas Paines and Patrick Henrys of today the precursors of a world-wide Constitution capable of changing the way the world deals with power as dramatically as the original American Constitution changed the way England wielded its power.
