When they finally get it right, I wonder what the next issue will be that they use to divide us to chase those of us who are intelligent enough to see though what they're doing away from politics and voting altogether. 50% of us don't vote and they don't want us to start. Maybe we should come up with a way for them to simplify their efforts so they don't' have to destroy the fabric of our society to remove most of us from wanting to participate in the democratic process. Maybe we should make being intelligent a felony (felons can't vote) so they leave our vital resources and most personal issues alone when they have their presidential elections. Then they could skip screwing up our energy markets to distract us from reality so they know that the only people who support them are following them religiously, not because they expect them to actually accomplish anything once they get in office.
Maybe they could trying something harmless like debating whether we get more mileage with clean air in our tires over polluted air where Obama wants to require air filters to be installed on air pumps at all filling stations to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. Then McCain could counter with a study that shows perfumed air with Chanel No. 5 added to tires can give better mileage while asserting the notion of filtered air in tires is absurd having been born out of a mind that can only by evaluated as dangerous and psychopathic. He could even have psychiatrists stipulate to this being fact.
Then for an October surprise, both campaigns could reveal how the others biggest donors are either perfume and air filter manufacturers. By the time the voting day arrived, all that would be left of the political process would be a lot of shouting and screaming about things that don't make any sense with the only people who care anymore about who gets elected would be those who would benefit from their candidate being elected, which is how it is now. But at least our energy markets would be secure from the political process.
Sometimes I think we need two governments, a real one and a pretend one. It might sound expensive but in reality it ought be cheaper than what we're doing now with the only options to solving the critical issues of the day being props used as fluff for fools to debate presidential politics over. I mean at least that way we could actually solve our problems while the other government, the one we have now, pretends to. It would have to be cheaper than losing our whole economy no matter how much it cost.
I wonder how much it would cost to just give everyone in Washington and on Wall Street whatever it is they want to stay home and be rich and famous without being gainfully employed. Then we could put all the people they deploy to help them pretend they're doing something to work doing things that will benefit us and the future. Personally I think if we can afford to give them as much wealth and power as we do now and still have anything left for ourselves, would could give them a whole lot more if we could just get them out of our way. But it doesn't work like that does it?
Our political and financial leaders want more than fame and fortune. They want to be important. And they can't seem to accomplish it by doing things the way they ought to be done even though it would make them so much more successful at running the world. They seem to only want to be rich and famous at our expense while sacrificing truth an reality to get whatever it is they're after. Sooner or later we're going to have to figure out how to bring intelligence to the forefront of our decision making process while criminalizing the kind of stupidity that brought us where we are now. The human race will simply will not survive on this planet if we keep letting idiots run the world.
