So, the question is, will the Democrats open the primaries in presidential elections. This article from IN These Times may give a clue how it will happen; Sanders Supporters Taking Over the Democratic Party. Yup. It's happening. Eventually, hacks like Joy Reid will provably shift to the Republican party, or, at the least, sign up with Fox News.
Meanwhile, what answer do you have to Reid on why primaries should be open? Here's my start at a list:
1-allowing independents to vote in primaries increases the likelihood that candidates will get support from independents
2-Currently elites like Joy Reid and establishment people have too much influence, and are keeping the Democratic party an elite, bogus meritocracy that fields losers
3-The existing closed system does not represent the vast majority of Democrats. It allows a select few to overly influence the selection of candidates, basing choices on how much money they can bring to the table, which puts more and more millionaires into candidacy.
