I suggest that it's time----high time----to file class action lawsuits. Protests are not covered by the newspapers, and the ACLU has documented that Bush protestors are corralled routinely to areas away from the media, while pro-Bush citizens are also routinely seen within camera range. So protests will not work. Instead, lawsuits always pack a punch right where it counts: The pocketbook. To boot, the press does usually cover lawsuits.
Maybe if Americans en masse demanded impeachment, not just asked Congresspeople what their position is about it (Which is to hand power over to Congress which doesn't even belong to them), then we'd see some progress. Because after all, Ms. Off-the-table said that Democrats would win the House back if the House did *not* impeach. What backward thinking influences such a position, I have no idea except to point out to those who say that impeachment is to divide the country, that to *not* impeach may be the ultimate nail in the coffin of the American cause and, at this point, the American people themselves. So obviously, public opinion does matter because clearly, Ms Off-the-table/off-the-wall thinks that public opinion is such that she'd better not make a move to displease those who would unseat her from public office.
Contrary to popular belief, we are NOT powerless and to lie down and play victim is only to participate in the Axis of Evil. Time to pipe up, fellow Americans!
Does anybody else have any other thoughts about what we can *Effectively* do? Please post the solutions below.
I want to hereby implore you as readers to please use the power of the pen, which is mightier than the sword. Please write a letter to your friendly editor, without going into any conspiracy theories such as I have done (Which will only invite discrediting) and expose this matter for what it unarguably is: An assault on health and human life in the name of "emergency". No "emergency" warrants the sickening and possible deaths of those who are medically vulnerable. On our tax dollars, to boot.
May I further implore you to highlight one very important talking point: That this is a matter which is bound to affect not only Californians, but Americans everywhere (who happen to be vocal enough). It is a cognitive error to think that "this interests me because I have friends/family in California" and "it's not on my turf": Instead, we must think the inevitable. If Bush and Schwartzenegger are willing to do this chemical warfare to Americans, then they will do it. Anywhere. Wherever it happens to benefit them the most.
Lock 'em both up and throw away the key! Yes, that means Gov. Schwartzenegger, too. (Let's not forget that he was involved in the Enron scandal too, and is a bosom buddy of Bush's. How else did a foreigner become hoisted to the throne as Governor, when a perfectly good----Democratic----governor was recalled? Hmm, sound like a bit of a political ploy to you?)
Please use your pens to expose this matter for what it is: A criminal act. Obviously this is going to harm the health of many Americans, if not even threaten the lives of those who are already medically vulnerable.
I suggest that to vote the Constitution-shredding crooks out of office is another key. I am not talking about our (hopefully, but not surely) exiting President and his partner in big business. Instead, I am talking about Congress itself. Clearly they are standing behind the countless crimes, committed in the most shameful way, with only promises of more to come. Throw ‘em all out and the key to their cells along with them all!
Oh and to the Feds who are spying here like peeping toms and trying to intercept any effective plans, please know that you yourselves may be vulnerable. After all, nuclear war or World War Three after striking Iran just might endanger you too. Ooops. Slight oversight. Time to give a care, even if only for your pathetically selfish and evil little selves?
If Bush himself was to experience what he has done to other people, he might learn a thing or two. What if Bush had to sustain torture without habeas corpus at Guantanamo? How would he like being subjected to shock and awe for a lie? What if he had to inhale the chemical pesticides every month for five years? Mr. Bush, when chasing down terrorists, perhaps we are questioning all the wrong people.
