Mir Hossein Mousavi, as prime minister under President Khamenei, both following Khomeini's dictates, was at least partially responsible for the 1988 prison execution slaughter of the secular left that had in 1978 led the strikes of the Iranian working classes so critical in weakening the government of the Shah in support Ayahtolla Komeini's Islamic revolution that overthrew the Shah in 1979. An execution of thousands of accused that is still officially denied as ever having happened.

Farah Rusta, 9/19/09, Iranian.com,
"Mousavi who, as the Prime Minister under Khamenei, presided over one of the most horrific acts of genocide by the Islamic regime of Iran, I am talking about the Mousavi who, as the Prime Minister under Khamenei, presided over one of the most horrific acts of genocide by the Islamic regime of Iran. I am talking about the same Mousavi who was called Imam Khomeini's trusted prime minister? "

To the commercial media gullible and disinformed public, having long been made to understand that getting Ahmadinejad out would be an event to celebrate, it becomes inappropriate to ask if Mousavi was popular or not, or to ask who was seen as having won the TV debates between Ahmadinejad and Mousavi. (Still available on U-Tube)
Time Magazine called them for Ahmadinejad. (more on Mousavi further on in this historical review)

All U.S. Government allies and satellite third world government leaders readily repeat the charge that Ahmadinejad stole the election, promoted by CNN as the unvarnished truth even though the world has had the history of U.S. media manufacturing public disdain and hate through lies, news selection and omission regarding previous designated enemies of America in Korea, Vietnam, Guatemala, Congo, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Panama, Greneda, Chile, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Iraq, Somalia and Afghanistan, not to mention earlier "red' China.

Around this charade of "trustworthy "reporting' of the Iranian post election demonstrations, one witnesses, as perhaps never before, so many progressive and even anti-imperialists journalists and web sites, either so intensely gullible, or going along with CNN propaganda, afraid of losing their readership that has been taken in by capitalist media preaching fraud, justified revolution, and tyranny in Iran.

How many of these "pro-democracy" academic Iranian experts making the talk show rounds are actually bought-and-paid intellectual mercenaries promoted by neo-conservative institutions in the U.S.

These lies easier were and are easier to digest for the job the Israeli influenced U.S. media has done over years intentionally mistranslating and dis-translating Ahmadinejad's words to put a violent spin on his speeches - made possible because so few of us bother to listen to or read the original text of Ahmadinejad addresses before antagonist imperialist media interpretation. The public has been made to see him as a Jew hater and threatening to attack Israel. But though no one will ever forgive him for allowing ex KKK and ex Rep. David Duke and other mentally disturbed Westerners to speak at the Tehran conference on the Holocaust, the international orthodox sect rabbis Neturei Karta that spoke at the Tehran conference agreed with and seconded Ahmadinejad's assessment that the Holocaust has been used to excuse all Zionists past and present crimes.

Ahmadinejad, in place of that allowing that horrible conference, might have simply quoted Yehudi Menuhin who spoke in a similar way as he was given an award by the Israeli government in 1991,

"... of the Israelis. I admired them for their courage. I realized what they were trying to build against thousands of year persecution. I didn't, I wasn't one with their attitude toward the native Arabs - they should have shared everything, everything, and so but they weren't in that mood at that time- it was too early, very very tragic. It was the Jewish Holocaust; they never spoke of the Slav Holocaust, the Gypsy Holocaust; Gipsies lost five hundred thousand people in the gas chambers. We as jews gathered together in Israel should recognize our supreme destiny to heal and help. If the jews had acted together with all those others on a human basis and tried to find out why it is that a civilized people like the Germans could indulge in genocide - which is happening today all over the place. It's a human phenomenon. It happens - might happen to you and me - but instead of joining with the others in steadiness, they kept it on a Jewish basis and tried to make the most of it. Well, at the end of thirty years they had used up the world's sympathy.

The only solution is keep intact the territory and create a federated union, allow people to live where they were, together, apart, schools apart of together - what ever they want with Jerusalem capital of both like Bern is the capital of German Switzerland and French Switzerland and each president is there for a year and no one knows his name - that is the only solution." Yehudi Menuhin speaking on camera in The Violin of the Century, IMG Artists (UK) Ltd/Ideale Audience, parts quoted from Menhuin's speech before the Israeli Knesset in 1991.

Yet practically the whole world wide audience of Western corporate media believes Ahmadinejad to be unique in calling for one democratic government for all of Palestine, including the present state of Israel. Thus are we already programed to believe the next lie, made plausible by strange less than peaceful demonstrations initiated by the overwhelmingly defeated candidate, regardless of lack of any evidence.

Most all the deceptions self-exposed by simply recalling the flagrantly false information headlined in media for the obvious purpose of promoting and encouraging the continuance of the demonstrations by building vocal support from basically anti-Iranian government organizations in the U.S. and in the NATO led "community of [capitalist] nations."

Readers wishing a more scholarly article, with thorough sourcing footnotes, may read Riding the "Green Wave" at the Campaign for Peace and Democracy and Beyond by Edward S. Herman and David Peterson, Monthly Review, July 24, 2009. click here

Beyond the facts and background in the above synopsis are questions that naturally arise along with some seemingly logical answers albeit in pure supposition, but supposition that has a good amount of foundation in readings and study of subjects tangental to the above synopsis of events as reported falsely or in half truth by conglomerate owned media:

A. It would seem to be incredible that a former prime minister and his two former President backers would be going over to collaboration with the capitalist imperialist world dominating system and warring "Great Satan,' albeit, the face of the empire's leader might be currently seen as sanitized, for not being white-Anglosaxon for the first time?

However, many people are unaware that the theocratic state of Iran makes no pretense of being an egalitarian society. The gulf between rich and poor, educated and uneducated, is great. Members of the wealthy Iranian exile community point out Islamic Revolution leader Khomaini root's in his very affluent land owning family.
Former President and billionaire Rafsanjani is a Forbes Magazine "one of the richest men in the world." and had been accused of corruption some time ago by Ahmadinejad.

The unexamined question is Mousavi and his motives. Why would Mousavi unleash demonstrations that are obviously being used by a hostile West to discredit the government of the Iranian Revolution that overthrew the US puppet government of the Shah? Are these the actions of a "moderate"? Or are these the actions of a disgruntled man who kept his disaffection from his colleagues in order to gain the opportunity to discredit the regime with street protests? Is Mousavi being manipulated by organizations funded with US government money?"
