America Can't Properly Govern Itself, Let Alone Govern the World

Clearly, America wants to govern the world; no one questions this. However, the budget stalemate and the hatred shown between the two major parties in America clearly indicate that America cannot even function well as a national government, let alone lead an international or a coalition of international governments. Our policies in domestic affairs are in disarray, our Middle East and African policies are inconsistent and our understanding of other cultures is abysmal.

With all this in mind, who are we to run the world, or to tell other leaders they should follow our horrible example of how a government is to be run? As to being a "democracy," and following our own "Constitution," that is not even a bad joke to many Constitutional scholars in America and others in the world. Our rhetoric and our behavior do not match; in fact, they are too often incongruous.

America has lacked a moral leader since the presidencies of Dwight Eisenhower and Jimmy Carter. There is no way to account for the senile and fantasizing Ronald Reagan, the lying and murderous Bill Clinton, the idiocy of George W. Bush and his evil henchman Dick Cheney, and now the lying Barack Obama and his chief warmonger, Hillary Clinton (who has her own eyes on the White House; she and Bill would like to make history by being the first husband and wife to run America -- this I have from Washington, DC insiders who have heard her speak of this at parties when she's been a bit tanked up).

Currently, we have a point man for the Republicans, Paul Ryan, who is saying that seniors and others in America would rather balance his idea of a budget as opposed to having a medical and social safety net. On the female side, there's Michelle Bachmann, who is saying even more should be cut from the budget. But notice, neither of them want to cut the Military Budget -- except for veterans' benefits -- or the secret Pentagon budgets that comprise the largest parts of the American budget.

The Democrats have no sense of leadership, because most have long ago discovered that Obama is not a leader, but a follower, and Democrats such as Dick Durbin, Patrick Leahy, Dennis Kucinich, and others are wondering who is giving Obama his marching orders. It is clear that Hillary got him into the Libyan "war" or, as Comedy Central's Jon Stewart says -- America's "not war" -- against the advice of his Secretary of Defense Robert Gates who, just days before America's attack on Libya, said, "Anyone who wants to get us into another war should have his head examined."

It has made congressional Democrats, Republicans and even lobbyists wonder why Obama has a Secretary of Defense when his Secretary of State is telling him how to run military policy. Frankly, Gates should do what Colin Powell did not have the good sense or courage to do to Bush. He should resign and let it be known that things are out of control, which would be a better service to America than if he keeps kowtowing to Obama and Hillary.

But this goes to show that even in his cabinet, Obama has no consistency. Thus, one has to ask, "How is it that Obama feels he should lead America or the world, when he can't even keep his own house in order; when he has shown such poor judgment in the way he's thrown away trillions of dollars to banks, while ignoring the jobless, the homeless, the critical infrastructure, and allows a woman who knows nothing of warfare or the military to make judgments of when to go to war?

Clearly, America cannot govern itself in a civilized nor psychologically sane manner, so why should it feel it should lead the world? The sickness in America is so rife, that perhaps we should be put under psychotherapy and, if that doesn't work, be hospitalized and given psychotropic medicines to help straighten out the minds of our leaders before they commit more anti-social -- anti-human -- mistakes that injure other humans and even the earth itself.
