Now that we're entering some kind of fantasy world with Bernie Sanders actually becoming the front-runner for the Democratic Nomination for President, I thought it might be fun to let our imaginations run truly wild and try to come up with a list for the most world changing Presidential Cabinet one could envision.
Mine would go something like this:
VP: Stacey Abrams- I think she's a very, very smart woman of color from the South (which will be extremely important to Sanders in the general election) and would be by far the best choice for him (I'm still going to be somewhat practical).
Secretary of State: Noam Chomsky! Now this gets fun!! Could you imagine? And who knows the intricacies (and history) of world geopolitics better than the Gnomemeister"
Chief of Staff: Michael Moore- Now, who's more of a "people person" than our beloved Mikey??? He gets along with everyone. And his experience as a film director will make him the ideal person to get "things"done!
Attorney General: Ralph Nader. Bernie, you might need a good lawyer at this point (just kidding). I mean, really- is this the guy for the job or what?
Secretary of Defense: Tulsi Gabbard- I know that was much too easy. But how else are we going to have Christmas Carols in the White House played on ukulele?
Secretary of the Treasury: Robert Reich- I'm assuming Bob would accept this particular return engagement for a job he's had before. But, this time I think he will be on more of a similar wavelength with the other occupants of the White House than I hear he was previously.
Secretary of Commerce: George Soros(?) I put the question mark there because even I think this might be too "controversial" a choice. But it was worth it just to see the Trumpsters' faces go from green, to blue, to orange and then a shade of deep vermilion.
Director of Homeland Security: Scott Ritter- Now we're getting a little bit outside my sphere of knowledge. But I've always thought Scott has been a real stand-up guy who I'd trust with a vast spy network.
Secretary of Agriculture: Jim Hightower- Another easy choice. It's a bit of a kick up from his gig in Texas. But there's no doubt in my mind he's up for it.
Secretary of Labor: I'm thinking Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. What do you think? Hey, she worked as a bartender, waitress, house cleaner and school bus driver, so I think she's definitely the woman for the job.
Secretary of Education: Cornel West- A very, very smart guy. Has taught at Harvard, Yale, Princeton Dartmouth, etc. Does that make him the perfect fellow for this job? I don't know, but I definitely want him in our cabinet.
Okay, as you can see I'm getting a bit burnt out here. So, I hope you'll put your two cents in. You can add or amend to the above, come up with your own all new list, or simply mercilessly mock my choices.
Remember, we still need:
