I predict Corey Lewandowski @CLewandowski_ will not be Donald Trump's @realDonaldTrump 's Campaign manager by the end of the GOP convention, probably much sooner. He's already begun the road down, before he's fully out. This is also a Koch bros failure, since Lewandowsky was director of a Koch brothers sponsored state org-- Americans for Prosperity's, in New Hampshire.
Lewandowski has also managed congressional campaigns. For example, he was on the campaign of, then became the chief of staff for corrupt Ohio congressman Bob Ney, who was sentenced.
WIkipedia reports:
" In 2007, before Ney was sentenced on federal corruption charges arising from the Abramoff scandal, Lewandowski wrote a letter to the presiding judge, Ellen Segal Huvelle, saying that Ney was a mentor and "surrogate father" to him and asking for leniency in sentencing."
Heading a regional advocacy organization is not previous experience for managing a national campaign for president. Perhaps Probably, Trump was pretty desperate at the beginning of his presidential journey, and serious campaign managers were probably not interested then.
Now, Trump has himself in a position where he'll pay a premium to bring in a real campaign professional. He desperately needs one to put his ship, currently adrift on the primary sea, back on course. He also, clearly needs grownup professional image advisors.
Currently, Trump is focusing on demonstrating his ability to be loyal, even to a dramatically underqualified, bumbling embarrassment of a campaign manager who has probably garnered more bad publicity in recent history. But I have a strong feeling that, feeling the heat of a media looking for blood, Trump will decide he needs fresh, strong talen. Lewandowsky will probably announce that he has a family or health issue that he as to take care of, so he's resigning. Trump will pay him a strong incentive to keep it civil. I don't think there's a way that Lewandowski stays on the campaign that's not problematic for the campaign. He'll be phased down and out.
If Trump can, instead of using an inexperienced maverick campaign manager, bring in a seasoned team led by someone who has had experience with a candidate who the GOP has been behind, he'll adjust some political discomforts and have stronger navigation resources.
Every day that Trump keeps Lewandowski is evidence that he's not doing what's best for his campaign-- a sign that he might not have the strength to make the tough choices a president must make.
It's been good that he's kept Lewandowski on this long and I hope he keeps him on, though I don't think he is that stupid or compassionate.
Trump as president is a frightening idea. Anyone who buys any of his circadian policy statements and positions is naive. There's no reason to trust that he will do or stand for anything he's saying. He's a businessman-- takes positions, makes statements to close the deal. He keeps all options open. There's pretty strong consensus that Trump is a narcissist. It is insane to nominate a narcissist to be president of the United States. I'd say that the success he's achieved so far is diagnostic of the sickness of America's socio-econo-religious culture. I believe the antidote is to bring our culture towards a more
bottom up, connection conscious way of being, seeing and doing.
