The United States of America is moving backwards in history. Affirmative action, which has been instrumental in making our nation more diverse is being eliminated. Our government has become a battle of two countries instead of a body of men and women who are working for the common good. Racism, prejudice and bigotry are on the increase. The south has risen again, and Georgia is leading the way in stupidity.
Anyone who is naïve enough to believe that the south had ever removed the Confederate flag from their homes, businesses and government offices, must take notice of their erroneous thinking. Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, Texas and Arizona should be honest about their state's attitude and fly the swastika.
Yesterday Georgia's despicable Governor, Nathan Deal, signed a law that virtually allows guns to be worn into any establishment, including the airport outside of security. They can be carried into churches, bars and schools. It is the NRA's dream come true, and a police officer's nightmare.
The fact the NRA doesn't want anyone to know is that the majority of people wounded or killed by guns in the United States received their injuries from someone they knew.
The George W. Bush administration created a fearful nation, and they used that tool to win elections. They divided our nation and it is totally irreparable.
I am no more fearful of terrorists or criminals than I was before 9/11. What I have learned to fear more are my neighbors and strangers in public places. We are the most gun crazy country in the world. I do not feel safe anymore. If I were to get in an argument at a movie theater, a gas station, a restaurant or a grocery store, I fear that some gun-toting moron will pull a gun and shoot me. If you feel I am exaggerating, turn off FOX News and read the truth about guns and their real danger to society.
I have a brother-in-law, who I used to think was intelligent. He believes we should all carry guns because our government wants to rule the nation by martial law. He doesn't see that our government has already ruined our way of life and is controlling our every action. Lobbyists have insured the destruction of the American way of life for most of us.
Wouldn't you love to go out with your wife or girlfriend to have a beer in Georgia? You just might get to watch an angry drunk shoot one or more people, and maybe you or her. Now that's entertainment the southern way.
No tourist with half-a-brain should ever go to Georgia.
