There is no other way to put it; what the Israeli's are doing in Gaza is indiscriminate killing of innocent people.
Is this not genocide? When people are killed indiscriminately that is genocide.
Gaza is an open air prison. Gaza citizens can't escape. The Rafah border crossing into Egypt's Sinai Peninsula has recently opened to permit some 7,000 non Gaza people to escape.
The Israeli's are preventing water, food, fuel from entering the enclave and have cut off internet service presumably to prevent news of the atrocities its committing from being revealed to the world.
Where is any diplomacy happening to stop the carnage?
In the US Senator Lindsey Graham (R. S.C.) has even said it doesn't matter how heavy a toll there is on the civilian population of Gaza. He equivocated Israel's military operation against Hamas to the allies struggle against Hitler's Nazi's in WWII. He's just a hate monger who lusts for war.
But the US Congress as a whole supports Israel no matter what they do. The overwhelming majority, Repubs and Dems alike-except for a possible handful- are in the pocket of AIPAC, America Israel Public Affairs Committee, that gets well heeled Israeli's to underwrite the campaigns of these politicos so naturally they give their full support to Israel. AIPAC by the way doesn't get its hands dirty underwriting the politicos campaigns so they escape direct culpability in the corruption.
As said many times in this space Israel is an apartheid country. It gets away with its illegal occupation of the West Bank and blockade of Gaza simply because of the unequivocal support it receives from the US.
According to international law all of the mostly Orthodox Jewish settlements in the West Bank are illegal. The US "officially" agrees the settlements are illegal yet does nothing to stop the expansion.
