I keep seeing progressives complain about just about everything Obama has done now. It is never enough, or is a betrayal or something.
To hear all the carping out here in progressive land, one would think that everything this new president does is no good. I mean, come on. The man works in the real world. We progressives demand but can't always have or get our own way out in the real world.
Obama deals with more than just the left in governing the country. We had ZERO loaf minus twenty under George W. Bush. Now you all complain about a half a loaf in some of his policies.
I'm not saying you don't have a right to voice your opinion, but even the GOP knows that half a loaf is better than none. And right now this new president is trying do massive changes on a system that is RESISTANT to change. And right now after 8 years of being in the wilderness under Dubya, progressives FORGET all too soon what that was like and now want to pick apart the only even halfway hope they have of getting ANYTHING done.
We have a vast segment of this public that is STUPID as all hell and buys into the right wing news media's lies all the time and the Democrats really can't even get a fair hearing in the press for the reason they are making the changes the way they're making them. Obama can't do anything right for this ungrateful country. The right hates him and now apparently so does the left.
Keep chopping away at Obama and you'll put a new crop of Republicans into office in 2010 midterm elections by sapping the energy and zeal of the left with all your kibbitzing. I know you have a right to criticize, but be careful lest your perfectionism bring another Republican to the White House. You don't have all the facts of what Obama is facing in his job, so be a little bit patient, can't you? He's a hell of a lot better than what we had under George W. Bush. Sometimes the 'perfect' is the enemy of the 'good'.
I don't care if you don't like my comments. They are true. Keep chopping away at his legs and you'll get Mitt Romney and a Republican Congress in 2012. Hope you enjoy that.
