To the FDA:

After researching aspartame for 29 years, working with experts in the field of aspartame disease, setting up a global network to warn the public, lecturing in other countries, and personally talking to former FDA Compliance Officer Jerome Bressler who exposed the fraud, cancer and birth defects resulting from aspartame, you would send to me this abomination of a reply.

A quarter of a century ago I gave FDA 26 questions to answer on aspartame but they refused to even reply.

I went so far as discussing FDA refusal with the then Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, who tried himself to get answers without success. The FDA has violated so many laws with regard to NutraSweet that any truthful response shows this poison knowingly and illegally remains on the market.

A reporter from the Chicago Tribune along with two other Mission Possible officials and myself spent two hours with Jerome Bressler who worked there as a compliance officer during the investigation. The studies were so bad he talked about how G. D. Searle would lock the door against the FDA seeing what was going on. Dr. Adrian Gross would yell "open the door or we will get a court order."

That part is on tape. Jerome said, "You know President Reagan was responsible for the approval in assisting Don Rumsfeld? We all knew aspartame was a poison and nobody in the FDA would allow it on the market." I let him know that originally in 1974 when FDA told G. D. Searle they couldn't market it, they did it anyway. It turned out my neighbor helped to construct the plant in Augusta, Georgia, and told me, "They were marketing it even though FDA said they couldn't. The stuff is poison and made me deathly sick."

So let's discuss the aspartame issue as well as precisely how many laws the FDA has violated and what chicanery and deception were committed to protect the manufacturers of aspartame causing the mass poisoning of the public the world over.

First about your propaganda form letter: You say: "FDA approved aspartame in 1981 (46 FR 38283) for uses, under certain conditions, as a tabletop sweetener, in chewing gum, cold breakfast cereals, and dry bases for certain foods (i.e., beverages, instant coffee and tea, gelatins, puddings, and fillings, and dairy products and toppings). In 1983 (48 FR 31376), FDA approved the use of aspartame in carbonated beverages and carbonated beverage syrup bases, and in 1996, FDA approved it for use as a "general purpose sweetener." It is not heat stable and loses its sweetness when heated, so it typically isn't used in baked goods."

The FDA did make it quite clear that aspartame was only approved in dry foods because it couldn't be heated. Was the FDA ignorant of the fact that if you put Equal in hot coffee which is also called "heating"? Since it breaks down at 86 degrees, all you have to do is swallow it.

FDA then approved it in chewing gum, which is one of the worst products because it works like nitroglycerin under the tongue, going through saliva straight to the brain. Here is the report by the late world expert on aspartame, H. J. Roberts, M.D.:
