I know that I'm not the only one who considers Half-Governor Sarah Palin an embarrassment to our nation, and believes she lacks the knowledge, experience, and intelligence to speak in front of any crowd. What I don't understand is how any person with an average IQ would waste their time listening to her.
Her appearance at CPAC clearly demonstrates why the Republican Party is so divided and why nothing gets done in Congress. Her Doctor Seuss imitation was significant of her lack of any meaningful thought.
When she made the statement that "the only thing that stops a bad man with nukes is a good man with nukes," I nearly 'lost my lunch.'
I thought it was impossible for her to make any statements that were more ludicrous than those in her past. She always surprises me, and never in a good way.
Because John McCain made such an obviously poor choice in choosing his running mate, he, too, has lost a great deal of credibility. He may have lost the election because his age, combined with the fact that she would become president if something happened to him. That became a fear of all too many voters.
Sadly, she is not the only fool on a stage attacking liberals with gibberish. Michelle Bachman, Rick Perry, Herman Caine, Wayne LA Pierre, and of course 'the Donald' are just as hideous. And there are many more.
Dividing America has become a success mostly because people listen to those whose only goals are personal and financial benefit.
Our nation is fearful of Putin. And we should be. However, he is no more of a 'hawk' than those names I have recently mentioned. Apparently the stupidity of George W. Bush continues; shoot first and find the truth later.
Palin is precisely what is wrong with America. I once saw a bumper sticker I liked. That was a first for me because I think they are a waste of time and simply make the driver look idiotic. But this one was too true to ignore. It said: "When bigotry and hatred arrive in the United States, they will be wearing a cross and waving the flag."
My grandfather was a wise man. He wasn't well educated by books, but he knew a great deal about people and life in general. He always told me that it is wiser to talk as little as possible, and teach by example and leadership. He obviously liked a quote by Mark Twain: "Action speaks louder than words but not nearly as often."
Few people are good speakers. That is mostly because they have little to say. Politicians today are the worst. Every time they open their mouths, they are criticizing their opponents. They seldom say anything constructive, and while denouncing ideas proposed by the other side, have nothing concrete to replace them.
America cannot work if we do not have a deliberative body in Washington. What we have now are the 'Hattfields' and the 'McCoys.' The difference is that neither party is suffering; the people are.
