The Gulf Oil Volcano: Oh the Humanity and Environment

Ever since the oil rig in the Gulf blew, I have been trying to wrap my brain around this catastrophe and I just cannot. To know that an oil volcano is erupting day-after-day underneath the seas not due to Mother Nature, but the stupidity and greed of man-kind has the tendency to erupt one's blood pressure.

A few weeks back a volcano in Iceland blew its top halting air travel within Europe and it only amazed me. It was Mother Nature doing what comes naturally, but this oil volcano is something so artificial and that is why it angers me.

In the case of Iceland, Mother Nature punched through. In this case we punched through and punched a hole into hell. Our punch-through will last generations as did Prince William Sound. More of that event later on.

This is where one wishes to punch someone, hold them accountable and make damn sure they pay for the cleanup. When I speak of "they" I am speaking directly to those who head British Petroleum. This is where one wishes to hold a megaphone and shout out to all Americans we simply cannot have offshore oil drilling in our future. To those politicians and political pundits who still believe in the mantra "Drill, baby, drill" or "Drill here, drill now" is offshore oil drilling the best course for we as a country? If your answer is yes, you are sadly mistaken and behind the times.

The true elites of this country sure love to vacation in the pristine lands in the South Atlantic, the Gulf and wherever this volcano of oil will travel: Are their vacation spots ruined for them? I do think so since no one knows at this time where this crude oil will make land fall or pollute the seas where one loves to venture out on their yachts, scuba dive or to lazily lie in the sun on pure white beaches.

I do not feel sorry for these elites; I feel deep-deep sadness for the marine and land life that will be lost. I feel a sorrow for those who work their butts off each and every day to cater to these super elites. They are looking at a bleak economic future.
