In this age of alternative facts, made up truths, fake news and memes has found common currency and ground with organized religion. After all, this "opium of the people," have been bamboozling and hoodwinking (thanks Malcolm X!) the masses for centuries. In the process they have lied, obfuscated, and promoted the very worse in human banality. From the brutal, vicious crusades prosecuted "in God's name" while singing the murderous Christian battle hymn "Onward Christian Soldiers, marching off to war, with the Cross of Jesus going on before," to the ignorance and criminality of the Spanish Inquisition, I have no use for religion and what it professes.

And today, American Christianity is right at home with unmitigated and unadulterated hypocrisy. So, pardon me if I do not believe. Today, I'm completely amused looking at the contortions and antics that "born again" Christian Republicans are twisting themselves into over the POTUS, and salacious allegations of his sexual shenanigans that read as a cheap dime store novel. I am convinced that American Judao-Christianity is, for all intents and purposes, very dead, but it is definitely not buried because its sure stinks, pardon the pun, to high heaven.

Yes sir, American Christianity (and Christianity in general) was butchered and killed at the hands of ultra-conservative Evangelicals. Today, the long-ago pride of Jesus-is-our-Lord-and-Savior Evangelicalism has now stopped being a religious faith tradition in America that followed the pious teachings of Jesus about justice for the upliftment and betterment of all humanity.

Modern Christianity, like it's old prototype did before, has made a Faustian Bargain, no, a pact with the Devil, for the sake of political expedience as evidenced by the fact that it looked the other way and held its nose while supporting a serial sexual groper of women and political con man for President of the United States when its hypocritical leaders ALL knew that he was deeply flawed and profoundly unfit to be the POTUS.

Indeed, the central lesson of the Gospel Message love, peace and fraternity has been brutally butchered, tarred, feathered, and quartered by the self-serving ambitions of Trumpism's sundry flimflammers that have sold their very souls for political currency. For me, it would be outright laughable the way that Evangelical Christians are behaving as vile and putrid hypocrites and conmen only interested in "showing us the money." You see, Evangelicals have conveniently constructed an exclusive interpretation that fuses and confuses modern-day white supremacy with purported notions of Biblical salvation. For these Christian hypocrites only those from the dominant white culture, along with their supposed inferiors (foot soldiers) who with colonized minds, can be saved.

I am no Christian. In fact, you might say that I have a healthy disrespect for all religions. So, in my view, to save Jesus from those claiming to be his heirs, genuine Christians must rescue him from the hands of those who use him as a faà §ade from which to hide their racist and un-Christian phobias their fear of Blacks, their fear and loathing of the undocumented, their fear of Muslims, and their ignorant fear of "the others" in American society. Evangelicalism in America today has stopped being a faith perspective movement rooted on and in Jesus and his teachings, and has morphed into a political movement whose beliefs repudiate and reject all that Jesus advocated and stood for.

These Christian hypocrites promote and spew a message of hate from the supposed hallowed pulpits and halls in which they say Jesus's spirit resides. Sprinkling "holy water" to wash away their guilt, hubris and greed and spreading smoke to hide their selfishness, they lie and mislead their congregations. They condemn as sin those who express genuine love for each other that is outside their narrow, medieval and puritanical evangelical straight jacket, espousing the kind of dogma that triggered the barbaric practice of "burning at the stake."

They embrace and promote a backward, reactionary rigidity and dogma that makes anything and everything they touch endemically and systematically toxic, banal and ugly. Christian Evangelicalism of today is being built on a foundational doctrine of cash-and-more-cash and a cynical promotion of the so-called spurious and controversial Prosperity Gospel that justifies multi-millionaire preachers and bilkers wearing holy vestments made of sheep's wool and enforcing the Cult of the Personality, shamelessly promoting self-aggrandizement on the backs of a cowed, confused, genuflecting and fawning congregation.

O yes, these serpents and sinners long ago discovered that being crude, money-grubbing profiteers - rather than prophets - delivers an earthly financial security and "rewards," never promised by Jesus in whose name they slaughter those who are hungry, thirsty and naked, and the helpless foreign-born among them. Christianity as a for-profit enterprise is a rank abomination before all that is supposedly Holy. From their gilded pedestals erected in white centers of wealth and power, they gaslight all to believe they are the ones being persecuted because of their faith and their beliefs.

This narcissistic neo-Evangelicalism embraces a new age of profound ignorance. For example, rather than considering the scientific consequences of climate change as evidenced by the number of storms of greater and greater ferocity they dupe stressed out believers by professing to have all of the answers using their Bibles as guidance. Again, I'm no Christian but to ignore the damage caused to the "Christian God's creation" so the super-rich few can profit in raping Mother Earth will trigger huge celebrations in the depths of the fiery pits of Gehenna, aka Hell.

Demonstrating the very zenith and epitome of Christian hypocrisy, these "good Christian people" are now embracing and enabling the incarnation of the very vices Jesus so resolutely condemned to advance their selfish political agendas. I am convinced that the death knell of American Christianity started long ago but has been hastened with the election of the present occupant of the White House. Long hiding under stones and out of sight, these creatures of slime and night have now emerged, called forth by their vaunted champion who has an estranged relationship with the Christian Holy Bible, and correspondingly, an equally adversarial relationship with the truth.

Today, the shameful fact is that Evengelical Christians could care less. Yep, its far better to grope women than men they reason, equating a criminal act as "lesser" because it happened to be against women. And other good, God-fearing political Christians defended an alleged child abuser by equating his actions with Mary and Joseph, essentially saying that his alleged abusive behavior was not a big deal since "Joseph was way older than Mary, a slip of the girl" and look how great that turned out.

Nowadays, Christians vehemently and with great conviction say they believe in the Bible and God and that Jesus rose from the dead. From the Sunday pulpit to the alcoholically merry bar stools all across America, Christians of all hues and stripes profess this basic principle as a badge of honor and essential truth. This belief is an article of faith and what makes them, well, Christian. I believe! They shout. But once they claim that certificate of Church and Christian orthodoxy, they think they've now been freed from the obligations of grace, from the cost of discipleship, from the way of Jesus that is defined, and simply hunker down on ignorant dogma, and viciously excoriate all "unbelievers" like me.

So, let me end with this: I get to cast the first stone because I'm no conman or Christian hypocrite. Again, I'm not a Christian believer. In the face of all this, I can't help but believe that Jesus if he's watching is finding it exceedingly difficult in recovering from his induced vomiting session caused by those who keep shouting and perverting his name.
