So, Donald Trump has finally shut up. You would think it to be a moment of worldwide rejoicing, but it is not so. After hiding out in the White House basement bunker with his Richie Rich doll and Binky his orange plush bear Donald Trump became mute. The White House announced Sunday the President would not be making any statements. Curled in a fetal position the Cheeto mumbles, "They're going to get me," over and over. The bunker is fully equipped and can withstand a nuclear blast but lacks an onboard Psychiatrist in the event of a Presidential melt down.
Like Pink, in "The Wall" Trump has been exposed before his peers and is now melting down. A bully exposed is a bully destroyed. He will muster his troops and lie and wave his arms again in a grandiose fashion, but the Party is over. Trump's desire for his MAGA army to rise fell on deaf ears, "Are you kidding? I'm not going out there those people are pissed off. They'd likely put my AR-15 where the sun don't shine!" The few MAGA morons that did show found themselves surrounded by a sea of angry faces and sought shelter behind the thin blue line.
Interesting isn't it that after three years of Trump's phony anger with plots and schemes filled with righteous indignation that a genuine and justified anger makes the orange one sound like a soap opera star past his prime. Suddenly, he's not the King of the world anymore. He's that overweight old man in orange make up cowering in a basement fearing for his safety. Surrounded by thousands who would take the greatest pleasure in ripping him limb from limb. They say violence is not the answer, but it worked in Italy. After stringing up Benito Mussolini from a lamp post Italians have had few problems with would be Fascists. After the French Revolution murdered several thousand royalists France has enjoyed several hundred years without any Royalist influence.
So, let us says that rather than violence is not the answer, let us say it is not the preferred answer. If ever a minority group had a right to a grievance this is it. The murder of George Floyd looked like something from the Warsaw Ghetto. Despicable, disgusting and just one more. One more murdered black man one more name on a wall filled with the names of murdered black men. The comedian Chris Rock put his finger on it. What does it mean to be black in America? "You wouldn't trade places with me and I'm rich!"
The target store looted and burned made themselves a target when they stopped selling water and milk to the protesters at the police request. Now, they have no store and Target is closing stores in the area until the violence subsides. Which side are you on man? Which side are you on? Maybe you noticed the large number of white folks involved as they too were disgusted by murder on the six o'clock news. But I think there is more going on here than just one more police murder.
Millions of Americans myself included have never recovered financially from the crash of 2008. The banks were refloated and the insurance companies. The car companies were bailed out and the American people were told to suck it up buttercup. Twelve million American homes were lost to foreclosure that's forty million people and now their children who grew up in this maelstrom see it happening again. They are pissed off and have a right to be. They don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.
