Welcome back to Earth.
The dolphins are here
And after that the rest of everything.
How was it being above it all?
Do you have any advice for us?
(We could use it.)
Will you hear the morning dove any differently,
Cooing from her nest In the palm?
Does it seem any more miraculous than before
Or are you already back
In the curl of the wave of time?
Do you want to be here more than before
Or will you always dream of getting away
With your astronaut suitcase
All packed under your bed?
What I really want to know
As this poem winds down,
And now that the Earth
Has once more embraced you, is
Can you help us?
Because the truth is
Most of us
Don't know where we are.
