As absurd as this may sound, if you pay attention what's been going on in healthcare in the US, you'll soon come to the same conclusion as I and many people have. Namely, that the pharmaceutical industry does not want you to be healthy. Think about it. If you're actually healthy they lose.
So you don't think I've totally lost it, of course they do produce life saving drugs and are helping a lot of people maintain their quality of life, however, in the case of those of us without disease, they are doing whatever they can, in the name of profits and without regard to ethics, to change this.
If you watch commercial TV, you see the number of drugs being advertised to treat everything from sleep loss to indigestion. I particularly like the latter, suggesting that it's ok to eat whatever junk you want as long as you take our "
little magic pill" ( Prilosec, Nexium, etc.). The truth anyone with a half a brain knows is that sooner or later, you're going to pay a big price for that behavior. Of course, when you do, and suffer the consequences of your unhealthy choices, they have another magic pill for you.
Here's the latest scam being perpetrated on an unsuspecting public:
A bill has been introduced in Congress that would reclassify DHEA as an anabolic steroid drug, thus making it illegal for Americans to even possess.
One of the best sources of health information I've found, the Life Extension Foundation, has reviewed these unfounded attacks and has prepared this rebuttal that describes why DHEA is not an anabolic steroid drug.
They also expose how pharmaceutical influence appears behind this deceptive scheme to turn DHEA into an expensive prescription drug.
It really pisses off the drug companies that I can buy this supplement for less than $20 for a months supply. If they get their hands on it, we'll be paying 10 times that at the very least.
