Article: Super super bowl- Patriots vs. Pirates

The game is American politics. The stakes are the future of the USA, perhaps of life on the planet.

The Patriots have been losing for the past 6 years, but rallied this past November with an amazing victory. Right now the teams are scuffling, losing ground, gaining ground. The Pirates may be gaining the upper hand, and project confidence about winning.

Let's take an in-depth look at both teams:

The Pirates fly the Skull and Bones flag of their Yale club. The descend from the Nazis- Karl Rove(rer)'s dad was a party official, and Dubya's grandpa funded Hitler. The Pirates are rich and powerful, and always want more. They are ruthless killers, having slaughtered 600,000 Iraqis in the past 3 1/2 years, along with 3000-9000 American troops- depending who's counting. Their victims also include several hundred journalists who have dared to report the truth from Iraq, probably a couple of US Senators, and some say 3000 odd people who died in the Twin Towers and the Pentagon on 9-11.

The Pirates consider themselves above the law, and flaunt this with impunity. They terrorize the US and consider oil-rich countries to prizes to be snapped up. They've hijacked the US government, along with its military might, as well as its Treasury and the Bible.

The Patriots are a motley assortment of ordinary people like you and me. We come in all colors, shapes and sizes. Some of us have been in this land for thousands of years, others arrived yesterday. Many of us have modest wealth, many are poor, more and more are destitute and homeless.

The Patriots are united by a belief in democracy, and the US Constitution, which gives us sovereignty, self-rule. We love our country. An old Sinatra ballad keeps running through my mind:
What is America to me?
A name, a map, or a flag I see?
A certain word, "democracy"?
What is America to me?...

The "howdy" and the handshake,
the air of feeling free
And the right to speak my mind out,
that's America to me.

We the people expect our elected representatives, especially in the House, to uphold their oath of office: "I, a Loyal Citizen of the Republic, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God."

More and more of us are realizing that our Congresspeople are betraying their oath. The Pirates are clearly enemies of the US Constitution, which provides a way for Congress to get rid of its enemies, by impeachment. Every day of the 110th Congress that goes by without articles of impeachment being filed, is another day of betrayal of treason, on the part of each and every Representative, any one of whom can file such articles.

The Pirates are barreling ahead with their plans to secure the prize called Iraq. They are also laying siege to Iran, with a media buildup and aircraft carriers steaming into the Persian Gulf. They continue, in their arrogance, to thumb their nose at the law and the Constitution.

The Patriots are gaining strength daily, as more and more of "we the people" understand that having sovereignty carries responsibility. We made an impressive display a few days ago, with massive demonstrations in Washington, San Francisco, LA, and many other cities.

We are in the fourth quarter. Those still standing on the sidelines will decide who wins when the showdown comes. The churches are key; they have the power to unmask the hypocrisy of the pseudochristian right, and strip the sheeps' clothing from the wolves. Then there is the National Guard, now under the direct command of the President, which may have to decide whether to shoot at protestors or join them. Another key group is local law enforcement, who are being trained to control crowds but mostly sympathize with the Patriots rather than the Pirates.

The weapons of the Pirates are shock and awe, lies, and massive firepower of all sorts. The weapons of the Patriots are truth, justice, and numbers.
