Strange Fruit Revisited - Neo-Nazis and the white power movement

Legendary blues singer, Billie Holiday sang of strange fruit on southern trees. While one wants to believe that this "fruit", the ultimate result of white power hate group activities is a thing of the past, it comes to light that throughout America, and perhaps the world, there are new plantings of the trees that will ultimately bear the racist agenda. Across America, in deep backwoods meetings, new versions of familiar white supremacist factions are rising. Hooded Klansmen of the KKK are building their ranks with members attracted to hatred of Jews, Muslims, and Hindus. Neo-Nazis and Skinheads actively plan to eliminate Asian, Hispanic and African Americans.
There are a dozen of these hate groups building membership by the hour in the United States. Within each of these twelve national hate groups are hundreds of local chapters. Their doctrine is all the same. Any group not of their faith or color is summarily judged inferior and should be removed from the Earth by any means.

The rise of the white supremacist movement in the United States is examined and documented in a powerful treatment by author David Gletty. His time spent undercover as a hate group infiltrator is presented in his book, "Undercover Nazi". For over four years David Gletty pretended to embrace the Nazi ideal in order to rise to a position of leadership in all of the most dangerous American hate groups. He organized marches through city streets and rallies on federal courthouse steps. He proudly guzzled beer and toasted the demise of what Neo-Nazis and other hate groups refer to as the "mud races". He joined in plots to terrorize innocent non-whites. He helped planned drug purchases and sales that would finance further racist violence.
Yet only David Gletty knew that he was funneling out the secret plans of all these violent extremists to waiting FBI agents.

Undercover Nazi is the story of David Gletty's inner struggle to not lose himself in the part he played. Gletty had no choice but to banter the rhetoric of Hitler and the final solution so as to ingratiate himself with KKK, Aryan Nation and Skinhead leaders. But after four years undercover facing the loss of his family and friends due to his "new" philosophies, David Gletty is on the verge of sliding too far downward into hate to ever reclaim himself. It is only a matter of time before the practiced hatred growing inside FBI operative David Gletty begins to bear strange fruit.
