A bill passed this week by both Houses of Congress will make it a felony punishable by lengthy prison terms to participate in many forms of protest associated with the OWS protests of last year. Several commentators have dubbed it the "anti-Occupy" law, but its implications are far broader. The bill--H.R. 347, or the "Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011"--was passed by unanimous consent in the Senate, with only Ron Paul and 2 other Republicans dissenting in the House. Not a single Democrat voted against it. Among the central provisions of HR 347 is a section that will make it a criminal offense to "enter or remain in" an area designated as "restricted" - a word defined in extremely vague and broad terms. D's and R's stand shoulder to shoulder FOR the banks and AGAINST the 99%.
