An alternate title might be: 'Indulgent America Memorializes Her Own Forgets Death They Brought to Smaller Nations'

This Memorial Day the world is again watching clips of Americans praising its past wars by honoring those who died fighting them in amazing self-centered disregard of the mega massive amount of Third World citizens lives taken in by Americans since the end of World War Two.

This "why us worry,' "we are the good guys' mind set is unsettling to both the survivors overseas and thousands of conscience stricken veterans of America's last fifty-five years of almost constant war against poorer nations trying to escape painful US economic and political domination. Each Memorial Day holiday celebration reenforces the TV dispicture and the politicians lying speech hailing America, paragon of military virtue.

Koreans who had almost every town and city in both the South and North flattened by US aircraft, know that those poor American boys remembered on this holiday weekend who came to bomb and kill the bad communist Koreans were only told that the North had conquered the South and had to be driven out no matter how many would die. They were not told of the tens of thousands of men women and children massacred in the South under the U.S. in placed dictatorship of Syngman Rhee during the years BEFORE the North easily overran the whole peninsula in a couple of weeks. Those earlier massacres are fully documented by the United Nations and recently augmented by hundreds of other thousands of dug up graves during the investigation of by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission set up by the South Korean Congress. At least two million Koreans perished in this American "police action.' How many of those millions of Koreans would still be alive today, probably living in a Communist Korea similar to their giant successful neighbor China, if these American boys had not given their lives for U.S. geopolitical confrontation with the USSR?

Though in American folklore, the fifteen year crucifixion of the populations of three former French colonies, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia is excused as a mistake, America military personnel who died participating in it are still held up as heroes. It was a mistake only because America lost, but it was heroic to serve the killing of millions. What do these Buddhists of a thousand year old culture feel watching the satellite coverage of Memorial Day parades?

What are Dominicans, Panamanians and other Latin Americans thinking, seeing Americans honoring those that sacrificed their lives to keep America free during the bombings, invasions, occupations of their countries? Was participation in that bloody intervention to keep their elected president from being returned to office something to have gratitude for? Was giving your life taking the lives of a thousand Panamanians to arrest a former CIA paid drug dealer Panamanian President something to get thanked for?

Memorial Day parades are seen by Muslims the world over; in Iraq, where there are already at least a million and a half dead; in Afghanistan, where the U.S. and NATO plan to keep killing forever, claiming self-defense after Saudi Arabians flew U.S. planes into the Twin Tower and the Pentagon; in Lebanon, Somalia, Yemen, Libya, Sudan, all nations that know what American bombardment can do, and in Iran and Syria, threatened with bombardment. What does Memorial Day in the U.S. mean for them?

Is it fair, caring, democratic, or is it heartlessly rubbing salt into the wounds of families still mourning their dear children's lives in countries all around the world - this U.S. mass media heralded display of selective love for the Americans who fell in attacking their countries?

And for those who might justify mourning only the American fatalities in World War Two, it might awaken some desire to include the dead of Germany, Japan along with the dead of the nations in which the war was fought, if it be remembered that it was America's capitalist banks and investment firms that built Nazi Germany up to #1 military power in full knowledge of Hitler's open profession of hatred for Jews, and communists and his plans for Eastward expansion. German, Japanese conscripts had less options than their mourned counterparts in Allied nations.

No, No, a millions times No! Celebrating, mourning, let alone honoring your own with parades for their participation in dealing death to a thousand of times over number of fellow Earthlings one is refusing to mourn, or even remember, is Clockwork Orange, chilling, inhuman freakiness.

God bless America and forgive it for proselytizing its bizarre and depressing selfish commercial values in the world it dominates today.
