A lot of questions about the intense media focus on the swine flu can be answered by this March 19th announcement:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sanofi-aventis (EURONEXT: SAN and NYSE: SNY), announced the signing of an agreement with the Mexican authorities to build a 100 million euro facility to manufacture influenza vaccine in Mexico. ENDWe are nearing 100 years since the last flu pandemic but apparently industry keeps living in the past. Is it a case of "if you build it they will come"? Maybe people need a dose of hysteria from the media to submit to the next vaccine in the pipeline. Our health care costs will never be controlled if the CDC and profiteers manufacture products for annual consumption in response to a threat that occurs only once in 100 years. But that is apparently the plan.
