"Collect" the Dots: Free Software to Capture and Publicize Local Election Glitches

Technology gives citizens the tools to achieve greater election transparency without relying on public officials or the news media.

One such tool is our Election Incidents Hotsheet. The Hotsheet is a Web "bullhorn" for citizens, giving them an outlet to report local election irregularities directly to other members of the public.

A working model is at http://ballot-integrity.org/sample/ Feel free to give it a try.

Our group is offering to clone the Hotsheet for a limited number of other good-government groups, at no cost.

We make this offer because we feel a Hotsheet is an essential tool for election integrity, and because the effort required of us is virtually nil.

Here's the agreement:

Our group--

o Creates a Hotsheet customized for your group and your locale (your county, city, or other jurisdiction).

o Manages and hosts the Hotsheet software (unless you request some or all of those responsibilities).

o Provides you with sample press releases.

o Provides these and all other reasonable services at no cost (although donations would not be refused after the election).

Your group--

o Sends us the data needed to customize the Hotsheet.

o Handles all promotion and publicity for your Hotsheet.

o Replies to Hotsheet reports in cases where local knowledge is required.

You'll find the Hotsheet is simple to operate, for user and moderators alike.
