On Twitter, Jessica Valenti posted a video from Tiktok by geekynerdbitch, an Idaho woman who was in the process of miscarrying for over a week.
On Dec 8th when she went into the ER with massive bleeding, she was diagnosed as six weeks pregnant. She went to the ER twice again within a couple of days apparently with massive bleeding, receiving little help.
The woman was denied an abortion because of state law and documented herself getting sicker and sicker. She stated that she was afraid she was going to bleed to death before anyone would help her.
Luckily she managed to get through it, but denying her a D&C (the surgery performed to save women from dying from a miscarriage, and which is also called abortion when a fetus is involved) has nothing to do with a human decision about a fetus, and everything to do with patriarchy's power over women to the point of legally murdering them. And it could happen to anyone.
Time to make some changes.
