INSPIRING VIDEO: We will be free

My Take: I learned many things in my nearly five decades of activism as well as being a scientist. Perhaps the most important is that scientific observations on nature and human behaviors help us predict outcomes. For example, it took me years to collect data to summarize symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment in a readable slim book "Sharing the Land of Canaan: Human Rights and the Israeli-Palestinian struggle" (published 2004 ). I explained the two paths available: one based on human rights and international law and the other leads to wars that are not endless but could lead to catastrophic regional and global war. There are no winners in such wars. We know which road governments push for. What people push for and how much they/we succeed in it is up to us. I also learned that no injustice lasts forever and the Palestinian suffering is one of the longest with 8 million refugees and displaced people since 1948. Change is inevitable especially when people push for it (organize, read, know more, struggle, pay a price for activism). I also learned that many of the genocide and holocaust study centers and associations are run by people who challenge genocides with one exception: they support the genocide of Palestinians. I learned that climate, the environment, unfettered capitalism, and militarism are connected to making the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. But I also learned that if we do not work together to stop them (as millions are doing), we are doomed as a global civilization.

At the end of September 2023, I sent messages about the ongoing attacks on Al-Aqsa mosque and the continued ethnic cleansing adding: "The above gives the green light to Israeli settlers and soldiers to accelerate their oppression and kill and uproot more Palestinians. It gives the green light to the perpetual liar Netanyahu to spout more lies and racism at the UN but also to simply articulate and graphically show a map erasing Palestine. But Palestine refuses to disappear. The obstacle to fully liquidating us is stubborn resistance (most of it non-armed by the way, see my book). This resistance is emanating from Palestinians and others (including the global movement) despite the attempts to suppress it. We remain hopeful that truth will triumph."

B'Tselem also issued a scathing report on the violations ten days before the Gaza Ghetto Uprising. I also showed our achievements in building our oasis of hope/resistance here

Outside Perspectives/Media On Palestine:

On Lebanon: There is no difference between Hezbollah and Lebanon. Lebanon will be annihilated. It will cease to exist. - Israels Minister of Education

From George Galloway, who knows Lebanon well: "I was present in Beirut in 1982 when Isral invaded Lebanon. Neither Hezbollah nor Hamas existed then. It ended in the massacre of thousands of women, children and horses in the Palestinian refugee camps. There were no men. They had sailed for Tunisia by international agreement, the safety of their families guaranteed by the United States. The occupation of Lebanon did not end until 2000 when the Lebanese Resistance drove them from all but the Sheba Farms district. An 18 year reign of terror. The Lebanese will never allow such an occupation to occur again."

I'm an old Pogo fan. For some unknown reason I persist in outrage at Feudalism, as if human beings can do much better than this. Our old ways of life are obsolete and are killing us. Will the human race wake up in time? Stay (more...)
