And public opinion is demanding change.
It doesn't matter where you live in this country. Things are getting worse. Americans are fed up. And they are demanding change. Facts and public opinion speak for themself. Just look at these facts.
3 out of 4 Americans do not approve of the job Congress is doing.
And 2 out of 3 Americans are leaning Democratic for Election Day.
These facts speak for themself.
And what about down here, in our conservative Southwest Missouri district? A bible belt Republican district, with a strong incumbent, my opponent, Majority Whip Roy Blunt? How do people feel around here?
In my opinion, they are more outraged than the average American.
Our local media refuses to inform Southwest Missourians about public opinion. They continue to run local stories about my opponent, Roy Blunt, running for re-election, while refusing to list his opponent's name in news stories. Down here, we are living in a Republican controlled stronghold media outlet. Local voters are not getting a chance to be informed.
And I think they are getting fed up.
Southwest Missourians represent the values of Americans. Strong, moral values. Stronger than ever. And local voters are not getting an opportunity to know they have a real choice for Congress. A choice for change. A choice for an underdog, who represents the people. And that underdog in Southwest Missouri goes by the name of Truman.
This is a true David vs. Goliath story.
For those of you who do not know you have a choice; here is your choice:
Jack Truman believes in change and being for the people. Not for Washington and big business. Truman is for the people. My opponent, Roy Blunt, best represents Washington. With the Mark Foley scandal, my opponent, Roy Blunt, has been one of 3 members of the GOP leadership committee, responsible for the last 10 years to handle this matter, and nothing has been done. My opponent, Roy Blunt, as Majority Whip, was Mark Foley's boss, having Foley as his deputy whip on the leadership committee. And as recently as this year, my opponent, Roy Blunt, contributed the maximum amount of money to Mark Foley's current re-election campaign. My opponent, Roy Blunt, also has direct ties to disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff. According to reports, he was the bag man for his boss, Tom Delay, raised questionable amounts of cash for Delay, and also for his son, who is currently the governor of our state. Along with convicted Congressman Bob Ney, reports show my opponent, Roy Blunt's direct connection to Abramoff, Delay, Ney and Foley. Roy Blunt has direct ties to the most corrupt people in Washington who are currently being indicted and convicted of federal crimes. In addition, my opponent, Roy Blunt's wife and son are lobbyists for 2 of my opponent's top campaign contributors, Phillip Morris and UPS. Jack Truman has zero political ties and owes no favors to anyone. Truman is a vote for the people, and a voice for change in Washington.
Jack Truman believes in a health care system for every American. My opponent, Roy Blunt's biggest campaign contributor is Phillip Morris. I think that speaks for itself.
