James Baker's Double Life: A Special Investigation by Naomi Klein
This is an old article, which basically says that James Baker, senior advisor to the Bush family and major investor in the Carlyle group, was placed in charge of getting other countries to reduce or forgive Iraq's debt to them. The biggest creditor of Iraq is Kuwait, to which Iraq has been paying huge sums in reparations for the 1990 invasion by Saddam.
In essence, the US taxpayer is subsidizing the Iraqi government, whose limited funds are going to wealthy Kuwait rather than to rebuilding Iraq or providing basic services or security there.
Stephen Schwartz, who publishes the Schwartz report for the NY Times, says: "I am running this because James Baker stands at the heart of the Port controversy". One can only wonder what sort of deal the Bush crime family has made with the United Arab Emirates, who were heavily involved in funding and staffing 9-11. One friend suggested that giving them the port deal is the payoff for their participation in that "new Pearl Harbor", which gave Bush the excuse to institute fascism in America.
Dark speculations for dark times. We are in the era of antichrist, for sure.
The only out I see is working for impeachment- peaceful, legal and democratic.
