Lawrence then crossed the Sahara to the Suez Canal with his Arab Servant. Here Lawrence returned to Cairo and came back to his British Counsel. It is a fact that Lawrence had a sincere feeling for the Arabs, and his own distrust of his own Government and regiment.
The Generals promised weapons, but broke their promises. Lawrence saw the ugly side of the British, and yet also the outlaw side of the Arabs only interested in stealing and looting. Lawrence bombed trains that were coming from Turkey going to Kuwait.
The trains were filled with valuables, including Opium. An Opium cargo bound for German ships to trade in China.
It is pretty obvious the Turks had quite a wide variety of advanced weapons and planes all gained through the British and American weapons manufacturers. It is why Americans wear Red Poppies during Memorial Day celebrations.
Britains only motive was to try and get Arab support to fight the Turks, while both suspected the British were there as occupiers to take their land. The Arabs knew that Britain was in the Opium business, taking Opium through their lands. This is why they supported the bombing of railroads and trains.
They also knew the British and Americans took their land called Kuwait. So the idea that Lawrence of Arabia was to unite the Arabs to fight the Turks was a failure in intelligence planning.
The British did not want to fight two fronts, that being the Arabs and the Turks at the same time. The British also knew that the Turks and Arabs became enemies because of Britains' intrusion in the region, in which before WWI the British were successful in bargaining with the Turks to build the railroad and to claim Iraq or Mesopotamia land as part of their Ottoman Empire, extending to Kuwait.
When Arch Duke Ferdinand was gunned down, it was a British plot, because the Arch Duke was helping Germany freely join the Ottoman Empire. This meant Britain would lose its poppy fields.
So the Brits told Serbia they would lose support financially and in the future; if the Arch Duke was successful. The Serbs carried out the assassination.
Britain and the USA caused WWI to happen.
This is still the case today.
Turkey, the Ottoman Empire controlled Opium fields in Turkey selling the Opium to the British then selling to the Germans, until the War convinced Turkey to remain allis with Britain in the Opium Trading.
After WWI they worked together keeping railroads secure through Iraq while maintaining, occupying and controlling Kuwait a seaport outlet bound for China. George Bush was the first to drill Oil Wells in Kuwait.
The Arabs knew this and while their tribes were unable to come together to fight this, the problems remained.
