Muammar Gaddafi, with the blessings of the Bush Regime, though still on the Terrorist watch list, gets to buy nuclear technology from France.
The US isn't quite ready to say Gaddafi's not a terrorist, but he's a safe enough terrorist to have nuclear technology.
Ostensibly to power desalinization plants. On the other hand, Iran, who, like Iraq has done nothing to the US since 1980 is waiting for bombs to fall on its nuclear facilities, providing that they aren't among the 24% of clear misses by US "smart bombs."
Worse still is the absolute contempt the US "government" HAS, and has always HAD for the American electorate
Does this seem somewhat moronic to anyone but me? Gaddafi is as sly as a fox. The US claimed he, Gaddafi, was responsible for a discotheque bombing in Germany in 1986.
Reagan decided to send a herd of F-111s to bomb Tripoli, and to make matters worse, the US could find no county enroute that believed the US story enough to allow these aircraft to land and refuel!
Libya further allegedly destroyed a French airliner in 1989, and blew up Pan Am 103 in 1988, but Gaddafi's a good guy now. Sort of like the Pakistanis. Well I guess the UAE too.

Whilst the poor slobs like the Iraqis and the Afghans, who haven't done anything to the US, they get the crap kicked out of them for reasons as of yet, undisclosed.
Cuba is on this "terrorist list" as well, and Cuba never did anything to the US, and yet, millions of dollars and some of the most ridiculous plots in human history to kill Castro have crashed and burned.
Yeah lots of Cubans got killed when the Bay of Pigs attempt plowed into the ground and these Cubans were left by the US to be Captured and killed by Castro. OOPS!
However, because Gaddafi tells the world he's a changed man now, and only wants the nuclear technology for desalinization purposes it's fine with George.
Though still on the terrorist list, GeorgeCo allows it!, and what's more, he gets US sanctions lifted to boot!! Clearly BushCo desperately wants a foot hold of any sort in the Middle East.
He and his associates have negotiated with terrorists to this end.
