Friday, March 12, 2021Scandal and the British Royal Family: A Brief History The current "royal scandal" is, of course, about Meghan and Harry. Scandals, of course, go hand-in-hand with British royalty. But this one is different. It's not about anything the couple have done. It is about who they are. This column discusses the current one and its racist/politico nature, and compares it to a long list of others, which, in contrast, are always about something the person has done, and usually about sex.

Friday, March 5, 2021"Bipartisan Commissions:" 9-11 and the Capitol Riot This is talk of creating a "bi-artisan commission" to investigate the 1/6/21 storming of the Capitol, along the lines of the "bi-partisan" commission that investigated the 9/11 tragedy. There are two problems with this analogy. A) many criticisms of the work of the 9/11 Commission have arisen. B) Any investigation of the riot could not, given that it occurred in support of Trump (e.g., see Trump-flags) possibly be bi-partisan.

Sunday, February 21, 2021On Secession (by the democratic states) Secession has been proposed by some authorities in some of the states from whence significant support for the concept of the "Stolen Election" and the subsequent Trumpsurrection(C) came. This columns argues that it might be just a great idea if the states devoted to the concept of democracy, which happen for the most part to be located on the two coasts, themselves seceded.

Monday, February 15, 2021Trump Wins (a fabrication, this time around) This column is a fictional account of a) the possibility that the Trump-Coup-via-Insurrection attempt would have been successful, and b) one scenario that might have played out if it had been. But given the creation of a new "Stab=in-the-back" myth, the Trump-inspired insurrection of Jan. 6, 2021 could, when historians look back at this period, mark the beginning of the Second Civil War. And that is what this column is about. (Of course, were that to happen, the nation would have to have survived it.)
