The Republican Party Declares War on the American People; Time to Fight Back

Even now, states controlled by GOP governors and legislatures are hard at work in trying to control and diminish the rights of women. For example, there is a Personhood movement underway in eight states to enact legislation that would outlaw birth control, including the use of the "pill." The Mississippi personhood movement has planned a "Conceived in Rape" tour to get support for legislation that would prevent an abortion, even in cases of rape or incest.

The twisted logic of these people is incomprehensible. Their goal is to eliminate abortions to protect the unborn but when these children who might have been aborted are conceived, the Republican agenda then aims to assure that millions of them do not get proper health care, proper education or other necessary benefits, especially for those in lower income situations.

War Against the Middle Class, the American Worker

These two categories must be discussed as one issue since Corporate America's ongoing practice of transferring American workers' jobs overseas has contributed directly to the demise of the middle class. Republicans care not a wit about creating jobs for Americans, their interest lies with protecting the rights of the giant corporations that funnel campaign contributions into their pockets. This is, unquestionably, a Republican war to bring the American worker and the middle class to its knees.

In the wake of the disastrous recession of 2008, followed by a housing crisis, home foreclosures, personal bankruptcies and continuing high unemployment, the GOP has used every conceivable technique to prevent the president and the Democrats in the Senate to enact appropriate legislation that would prevent future financial abuses. The result is that Wall Street has been given the green light to continue devious financial practices that bring harm to the average American.

War Against the Environment

The Republicans attempts to strip away any and all environmental regulations and controls represent a war against our fragile environment. The GOP wants to water down or eliminate environmental controls that relate to air, asbestos, the climate, pesticides, waste, and water; they want no restrictions on the mining, oil and gas extraction, and power generation, to list but a few.

Now that it is crystal clear that the Republican Party is at war with the people of America and this society, what are we going to do about it? Just let those sociopaths continue to bully us into complete submission? No, it's time to go after them with hammer and tong and bring them down. What we have here in the upcoming 2012 elections is a perfect opportunity to restore our democracy by breaking the vice grip of Corporate American on this nation by eliminating the majority of Republican shills in the Congress. This is what is called the Power of the People and it's time that we used it.

The 2012 presidential and congressional elections will be critical to the future of America. This is the time that Americans must rise up and exert the mighty power of their votes. This is a time when the voters must be totally informed and knowledgeable of the dangers at hand; they must be energized and motivated to bring real change to America. They cannot stay at home during this critical time in America. Not this time.
