It is only propaganda--

which unfortunately is destroying our country's image throughout the world and assuring that our unfortunate troops, should they have the misfortune of being captured, will be tortured! Somebody ought to try to explain this to W. It is pretty simple and allegedly McCain and Powell have tried penetrating the "intellectually incurious" ones defense of stupidity but it goes like this--"If we torture theirs why won't they torture ours?"

They said one thing about torture and now another has been discovered to be the truth. Now they are saying there was no change. If that was the case why don't they distribute the two hidden opinions?

Bush's statement that Congress has been briefed on the interrogation tactics drew a swift and angry reaction from Sen. John D. Rockefeller IV (D-W.Va.), chairman of the Senate intelligence committee.
"The administration can't have it both ways," Rockefeller said in a statement.
"I'm tired of these games. They can't say that Congress has been fully briefed while refusing to turn over key documents used to justify the legality of the program."

The October 04, 2007 article "High Crimes and Low Comedy in the Bush Imperium" at
http://chris-floyd.com/
states "When the Justice Department publicly declared torture "abhorrent" in a
legal opinion in December 2004, the Bush administration appeared to have abandoned its assertion of nearly unlimited presidential authority to order brutal interrogations. But soon after Alberto R. Gonzales's arrival as attorney general in February 2005, the Justice Department issued another opinion, this one in secret. It was a very different document...The new opinion, the officials said, for the first time provided explicit authorization to barrage terror suspects with a combination of painful physical and psychological tactics, including head-slapping, simulated drowning and frigid temperatures...The 2005 Justice Department opinions remain in effect, and their legal conclusions have been confirmed by several more recent memorandums, officials said.
Look, it's very simple, and we've been saying it for years: Bush and his minions are liars. They are proven liars, confirmed liars; they lie for pleasure and they lie for profit, they lie as a matter of course, as a matter of policy. So when they say they are not torturing people, when they say they are following U.S. law and international law and the restrictions of the courts and Congress, they are lying. They lied about it in 2004, they lied about it in 2005, and they are lying about it now.

They lie about it because they want to torture people.
That's the first thing you must understand: They want to do it. They enjoy the thought of it. They want to hear the details, they want to hear about the pain, about the broken spirits and the ruined minds....
Bush tortured animals when he was a child, and now he tortures human beings with the same kind of furtive, sniggering, naughty glee.
And when someone catches him at it, he lies about it, just like a brattish child. And now the whole administration of the United States government operates on the degraded moral level of this profoundly stunted and twisted little wretch."

Some will think that poor little "bubble boy" was shaped and molded into what he is today by his brutish parents and/or society. That is undoubtedly true, but that doesn't mitigate his culpability. He's an incompetent failure so why did he run for any office? Why didn't the GOP expel him as they did to another "compassionate conservative" whose exclusionary policies W has adopted whole-heartedly, the racist David Duke, a Republican member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, and former Grand Wizard of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. Why did "Turd Blossom" promote the failure with his precise, professional propaganda?

The article "Bush's Dangerous Torture(d) Stance" at
http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/20071005/us_time/bushsdangeroustorturedstance
states "Every time the Bush administration is accused of torture the response from the White House is immediate and unequivocal. When the New York Times reported on its front page Thursday that the Justice Department had issued a secret legal opinion in 2005 approving a combination of particularly tough interrogation tactics, White House spokesperson Dana Perino said, "The bottom line is that we do not use torture." When Congress and the White House battled over detainee rights in 2006, Vice President Dick Cheney argued that techniques like simulated drowning didn't amount to torture. And last August, after the New Yorker reported the latest in a string of private memos sent to the U.S. government by the International Committee for the Red Cross (ICRC) asserting that U.S. interrogation techniques were "tantamount to torture", President Bush said curtly, "We don't torture."

Most lies W has made are just for fooling red state drones into voting for him, but this isn't as "It's not a minor dispute. Every time Bush asserts that the U.S does not torture, he is not just undermining his own credibility, he's diminishing the Red Cross too. "It's a downward spiral," says Elisa Massimino, Washington Director of Human Rights First. "If I'm the ICRC and I'm visiting [abused] prisoners in, say, Egypt, the Egyptians will say 'What are you going to do? The U.S. says this isn't torture'."
Worse, if a dictator in some god-forsaken part of the world captures an American soldier, the U.S. may protest. But it is the Red Cross' assertions of a violation that will be the immediate point of pressure on the captors. "What it virtually guaranteed is that dictatorships will cite the U.S. government's own arguments to defend themselves and that will make it harder for the ICRC and everyone else to condemn and shame those governments," says Tom Malinowski, a spokesman for Human Rights Watch.
The Bush administration does not recognize that it's not just American credibility on the line. Because bolstering the authority of the Red Cross is in the long-term interest of the America and its troops, the U.S. needs to get a clean bill of health from the ICRC on detainee treatment and make sure everyone knows it. Until then, every assertion by Bush or his aides that the U.S. doesn't torture will continue to undermine the organization best positioned to protect captured U.S. troops."

Now the Democrats have new information to use against big bro 43 as the article "Debate Erupts on Techniques Used by C.I.A." at
states "The disclosure of secret Justice Department legal opinions on interrogation on Thursday set off a bitter round of debate over the treatment of terrorism suspects in American custody and whether Congress has been adequately informed of legal policies.
Democrats on Capitol Hill demanded to see the classified memorandums, disclosed Thursday by The New York Times, that gave the Central Intelligence Agency expansive approval in 2005 for harsh interrogation techniques.
Senator John D. Rockefeller IV, the West Virginia Democrat who is chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, wrote to the acting attorney general, Peter D. Keisler, asking for copies of all opinions on interrogation since 2004.
"I find it unfathomable that the committee tasked with oversight of the C.I.A.'s detention and interrogation program would be provided more information by The
New York Times than by the Department of Justice," Mr. Rockefeller wrote."

Yes, just like the Iraq war and every other slimy trick that W has perpetrated against the US and the world, W has kept his movements secret. Not only are the clandestine maneuvers hard to figure out, anyone who attacks the evil will be attacked by the indomitable GOP propaganda and politics of personal destruction machine.

Rove never saw a reality he couldn't spin for petty, GOP, partisan gain. Attack the opponents' strength, such as they did to McCain-he allegedly had a baby of a different racial persuasion out of wedlock, Kerry-the "Swift Boat Veterans for anything but the Truth", and Cleland-a celebrated war hero with only 1 working limb due to battlefield bravery being shown in a doctored photo shaking hands with bin laden--thus making the opponent waste time on hypocrisy!

The article "Countdown: Wounded vet calls Limbaugh's comparison of him to suicide" at
http://rawstory.com/news/2007/Olbermann_gets_exclusive_with_real_soldier_1004.html
states "Keith Olbermann reported on Wednesday's Countdown that Rush Limbaugh has responded to criticism of his remark describing anti-war veterans as "phony soldiers" by comparing a real soldier who criticized him to a suicide bomber.
After Limbaugh's initial statement -- which he now claims was taken out of context -- Sgt. Brian McGough, a wounded combat veteran, appeared in a VoteVets.org ad saying that many troops in Iraq "believe George Bush's military policy
has been a disaster" and telling Limbaugh, "Until you have the guts to call me a phony soldier to my face stop telling lies about my service."
Limbaugh's response to the VoteVets ad -- which he admitted he hadn't seen -- was to call it "a blatant use of a valiant combat veteran, lying to him about what I said and then strapping those lies to his belt, sending him out in the media ... Whoever pumped him full of these lies about what I said and embarrassed him with this tv ad has betrayed him." Olbermann then welcomed McGough to his program to address Limbaugh's comparison of him to a suicide bomber, noting that Limbaugh had not been willing to allow McGough on his own show to confront him directly.
McGough -- who served in Kosovo, earned a Bronze Star in Afghanistan, and was seriously wounded in Iraq -- described his initial reaction to Limbaugh's statement as "disgust" and stated, "I've seen the after-effects of a suicide bomb. I've had friends that were hurt in suicide bombs. It makes me mad down to a place where I can't even think to describe. It's just repugnant."

The GOP stooges get the Democrats to pass legislation condemning MoveOn.org's Petraeus Betray US editorial and the Democrats don't pounce on the former-and failed, sportscaster. The fat stupid lout was booted out of NFL games for racist remarks about McNabb. What--Clear Channel has less strict standards than the NFL? Probably Clear Channel has determined that the red state dullards who
listen to Rush are more apathetic than NFL sports fans. What Rush said about McNabb was lousy, but his comments about phony soldiers and comparing McGough to a suicide bomber was--as McGough said, repugnant.

And W is a good and demanding coach. His recent friend from Iraq, Maliki has become just as corrupt as he could be as the article "Oversight Hearing on Corruption in Iraq" at
http://www.speaker.gov/blog/?p=823
states "The Oversight Committee is currently holding a hearing, "Assessing the State of Iraqi Corruption." The hearing will evaluate the status of corruption in the Iraqi government and whether U.S. government efforts to address this continuing problem have been adequate....
Judge Radhi Hamza al-Radhi, former head of the Iraqi Commission on Public Integrity was asked by Chairman Waxman regarding how corruption affects the reconstruction efforts in Iraq "Let me ask you this question: you've been there for a number of years in this position as head of Commission on Public Integrity. Based on your experience over the last three years is corruption in Iraq getting better or worse?"

Radhi Hamza al-Radhi replied "Yes, it is getting worse because of the sectarianism in the country and the lack of rule of law in the country...
I believe that it has stopped the process of reconstruction in Iraq."

Corruption stopping the reconstruction in Iraq, torturing detainees, making Democrats pass legislation regarding the truthful analysis of how Petraeus has betrayed us, or how Rush Limbaugh describes anti-war veterans as "phony soldiers" and suicide bombers have the following in common. It is all only input for the GOP propaganda--politics of personal destruction machine-which will attack anyone who dares stand up to king "bubble boy".
