New NSA Documents Shine More Light Into Black Box Of Executive Order 12333 Where did the authority to permit Americans to surveil all life forms on earth come from? On 4/7/1981, Ronald Reagan signed E O 12333. It strengthened the powers of US intelligence agencies. It directed them to co-operate fully with CIA surveillance. On 8/27/2004, it was amended by E O 13355 & on 7/30/2008, Bush II issued E O 13470, amending E O 12333 to strengthen the role of the Director of National Intelligence.

The ACLU on Edward Snowden Edward Snowden is a great American who deserves full immunity for his patriotic acts. And we're proud to serve as his legal advisors. This could be the key tipping point for the American public to fully realize the service Snowden provided to all of us by exposing the NSA's illegal spying program, if we act now and together.
