First, some good news.
One Of OEN's First Regulars Joins the Obama Team
Back in 2003, when OEN was just getting off the ground, one of our first regular writers was Jesse Lee. Back then, he was the first OEN member to get creative. He started posting single page printouts of brief reports from a progressive perspective. He'd post them on church and supermarket bulletin boards and we called them CommonSense, after Thomas Paine's publication. We posted them as MS WORD and PDF files so people could reproduce them. If you click on the links in this paragraph, you'll see old parts of OEN, including an old logo, posted before we went to the database (PHP MYSQL,) where, when we change things, everything changes.
Today, the word is out about Obama's Internet/New Media Appointees and Jesse Lee is on the list as the new "On-line Programs Director. If you ever wondered where volunteering or writing for OEN can take you... consider Jesse Lee. No doubt, Jesse, who I'm still in touch with, is an extraordinarily talented young man, but I believe his work with OEN helped him on his journey.
