Her attorney is suggesting that because John Conyers' committee isn't politely responding, "Why, of course, Ma'am, if you don't want to answer questions, why, no problem. Sorry we bothered you." They are being McCarthyesque.
Conyers and company are reasonably saying they want to hear her explanation for claiming the fifth and they point out that a person has the right to use the response to questions, not whole interrogation sessions.
