Bush Admn Top Officials Visit Tribal Areas

US deputy secretary of state Jon Negroponte and US assistant secretary of states Rechard boucher hold extraordinary meetings with Pakistani army officials and Tribal elders here wednesday.

Negroponte and Boucher first held meeting with army officials led by commandant Frontier Corp (FC) Col, Qaisar Alam.Afghan officials were also present in the meeting.The meeting was started on 9am which lasted for one hour,in which,according to official sources,border security and safe and smooth supply of oil to Afghanistan were the hot subjects.The guests were honored with local and traditional music and dances.

In an other round,US delegation hold separate meeting with local
elders led by Malik Darya Khan Zakhakhel.Both sides were discussed the on going situation prevaling in Khyber Agency.Malik Darya Khan said to US delegation that tribals were the peace loving and prograssive minded people added that every step in tribal area should be taken after taking local elders into confidence. Malik Darya Khan demanded of Negropnte to bring peace by negotiation and table talks not by force.Malik Darya Khan assured him of every possible support which could make tribals developped and prospres.Tribal elders requested US delegation to give special compensation in europe in USA visas and health and education secter would be addressed.US secretary of states Negroponte assured Tribal delegation of every possible support for peace and prosperity.it merte to mentioned here that last(Tuesday)US army officials hold meeting with PA Khyber Sayed Ameeruddin on border town torkham discussing the border situation.

Meanwhile, a Pak-Afghan "Dosti bus"carrying registration No,(6045-C)
was kept hijacked for five hours by angry Afridi Sultan Khel's
tribesmen at khyber area. 40 Afghan passengers including women and
minor children were on board which was coming from Peshawar to Afghan
province of Jalal Abad.The Sultankhel tribesmen were demaned of Afghan
and Pakistani authorities to release the seven tribesmen who had been detained in Afghanistan some two weeks ago.The seven Sultan khel tribesmen were detained by Afghan authorities accusing traveling without documents in Afghanistan.

Two political jirgas were refused by the hijackers but a prominent local elder Haji Zahid Khan Afridi with other tribesmen held talks with the elders of Sultankhel and succeeded after holding two hours talks with the hijackers.Zahid Khan Afridi assured the families members of the detained seven person in Afghan jail on releasing as soon as possible.Dosti Bus was with 40 passengers then crossed the Torkham border been in custody for five hours.
