Wonder what would those who oppose healthcare say if I told them that a form of the public option was in the Senate's Healthcare Bill? They would probably call me a liar but then that title would also have to fit Senator Barbara Boxer who brought it to the attention of anyone who watched Countdown tonight, December 22, 2009. Wonder what those who oppose healthcare say if I told them that the power to regulate the Insurance Industry would not be totally in the hands of Washington but the majority of the regulation would be left to the states? They would probably tell me that I have been blinded by the socialist media. Well then, that will have to fit many others and the discovery of these facts could better understand why President Obama said that once the American public see what's in this bill that they will embrace it.
I've heard many stand against this bill for the lack of a public option but if the states could take the subsidies and create a state ran public option that is particular to that specific state, would this not be a better public option than one from Washington? I mean, would not the state know better what is needed by its citizens than Washington? If you answered yes to any one of these questions then look no further than what the senate should pass on Christmas Eve. It's in the bill and the president was right.
I have heard others say that they do not think that Washington really knows what is needed in each state but I am sure that we can agree on the fact that the state government will. Some have also argued that Washington would probably fall behind on its regulating of the insurance industry because of all of the bickering being done in the halls of congress. Well states have been in charge of regulating the insurance industry for sometime now and since they have the most experience in dealing with this industry, why not let them continue? The senate bill does just that.
Your fears of this bill not doing what you say it should have now been answered and does exactly what you said that it should do. We can all agree that it is not perfect but besides our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ what else is. America, we have the healthcare that was promised and more. There was something about this guy that we voted into office that made us believe and so far he has delivered on all that he has promised so far. We still need to hold his feet to the fire because there is more to do and more that he promised but when the 24 hour news cycle gets all heated over something, let's step back and ask ourselves. Has he really not done anything that he promised so far? It's time to stand up for him as he stands up for us; let's not let his sleepless nights go to waste. We must not accept anything and everything that he does if we think it is wrong or could be done better but we must not also abandon ship when things get a little more confusing and complicated. We saw something in him during the campaign, now he needs to see something in us.
