You tell me
Tell me the story
Explain to me
The necessary details
I will write them down
And take words from
Your mouth
And make sure they make sense
My mind will develop
Justification for that
Which you speak
And talk of
Speak the truth
Your truth
Not others’ truth
But your own
On paper
What you say
Will form an explanation
For what is unfolding
Questions need not
Be asked
And those living do not
Need to worry
You hold the only
Reasonable account of
The crisis, the horror
The scandal, the terror
What you say will
Alleviate any concerns
The population has
For what’s taking place
Who’s to blame
And where it started
There’s no need
To ask those questions
Others vying to get across
The border or into this room
To talk to you
Are fools
I know how to keep your trust
And have no reason
To risk my livelihood
