Very rough interview notes-- mostly my questions:
What got you into writing about psychopaths.
100 million people over 40 facing memory loss, dementia, alzheimers-- because we're baby boomers. Current generation is the first generation of children born in the US who will not live longer than their parents.
Rob: Are you saying that both Obama and Bill Clinton are both psychopaths?
Rob: What's the difference between a psychopath and sociopath?
Can you give some examples of sociopaths who have redeemed themselves?
Rob: The only problem is, there aren't many sociopaths who get caught.
Gary: J Edgar Hoover was a pure psychopath"
Rob: so, you're saying that when psychopaths get jobs in corporations, whatever the
You say military costs US $1.6 trillion a year?
Rob: You write: "private corporate industries and our federal government function and progress is now programmed to be psychopathic. Has corporate culture now de-evolved to such a degree where psychopathology has been legalized and above the law?"
Rob: Do you believe that charisma is an essential element of being a psychopath or sociopath?
Gary: Obama is most pro-war president we've ever had.
Rob; I don't believe Obama makes mistakes.
Rob: You wrote, "In a survey of 500 senior executives in the US and UK, 26 percent observed firsthand wrongdoing in the workplace, and one in four believed it was necessary for professionals in the financial sector to engage in unethical and illegal conduct in order to be successful. Sixteen percent stated they would commit insider trading if they were certain they could get away with it, and 30 percent said that the pressures to maximize on compensation plans were an incentive to break the law." These are huge numbers-- 20-30%-- do you believe these people are psychopaths or sociopaths?
Gary: Here's how you can tell. Does the corporation seek to serve a public good?
Rob: You talk about good corporations. Yet you cite Joel Bakan, creator of the documentary movie, The Corporation, which states that corporations are designed to be psychopathic. So, how can corporations be good?
small businesses vs biggest 5000.
Rob: Do you have any ideas on how to deal with all these psychopaths?
1-identify our participation, our illusions-- take a look at what you support-- stop buying in their box stores, in their bigger mall stores
2- take your money out of their banks, tear up their credit cards.
Start brokering, barter. Shop at health food store, co-ops, farmers markets.
3-start intensely turning off their television and radio programs-- hurt their ratings.
4- only vote for third party candidates--
5- demand your taxes been spent in ways that help the commons.
6. Demand that the reinstate Glass-Stegal act.
7. don't buy what you cannot use. Buy what you need. STart working to get off the grid.
8- sell your houses if you can because there's going to be another crash, a bigger one.
Rob: Why are shows that feature psychopaths so successful?
Rob: talk about my mission on researching psychopaths and protecting us from them.
Rob: Can you talk about ADD and the drugging of our children.
Rob: There are new maps out that are showing that a lot more kids are being drugged for ADD is much higher.
Gary: in France they drug 0.05%. Here it's as high as 18%.
Rob: are there political aspects to the prescribing?
