 The testing debacle, so sad!: "A teacher in a big-city district in NY, posted this note on his Facebook page. The post says: haven’t taught a class in over a month. I’ve been administering various tests– English, math, etc I was giving to a bilingual class of third graders the NY state test for English proficiency which takes 3 1/2 hours for a child to complete.. A student who came to my school  from  Puerto Rico,on the 2nd day I started NYSESLAT testing,, had to take the test. I haven’t had the chance to spend any time with him .After he did the first two parts of the test before I read the instructions, he passed me this note: 'mister no English.' It was accompanied by four hand-drawn faces with tears streaming from their eyes and down turned mouths, the opposite of smiley faces."
