Deep calleth unto deep: Bypassing the deflating, crushing, naysaying
Of finite, feeble; senses, understandings and feelings
Supplanted by steely, stubborn, scarred confidence
Generated in wilderness terrains and botched, bleak landscapes.

Productive ground for the sowing of dreams, visions and imaginations
Plowed and tilled by hardship and adversity
Wetted by sweat and tears, fertilized by dejection
Surviving invasions of stinging nettles, poison ivy and hemlock.

Still, open season for harm, from rodents and reptiles
Termites and weevils, unseen attackers and destroyers
Joint forces; mounting incessant, full-blown incursions
On a promised land of fulfilment, joy and peace.
