It'll be interesting to see the reaction of Democratic lawmakers to Biden's escalation.
It seems unprecedented such a move would carried out by a lame duck administration.
Sure there's been "October" surprises during a presidential campaign. Looking in retrospect take Hillary Clinton's loss in 2016 when she took for granted the election was a cinch in her favor by failing to campaign in Michigan and Wisconsin in October and expecting Pennsylvania to be in the bag. She was overconfident and lost. What's crazy is Trump didn't expect to win. This time around he not only won the electoral college but the popular vote as well.
It's hard to understand Biden's escalation. What's to gain by it? It will only expand the war bring more devastation to Ukraine without changing the outcome. And bring a sure fire retaliation by Putin.
Biden most likely didn't make this decision on his own. The neo-cons in the State Department must have been in on it because war is in their DNA. Their "odor" seems all over this.
