Heather has a keen eye on the pattern inherent in our civilization. As such, she provides the following New Years address to her readers:
Barring near complete planetary destruction, we can decide what we want the biggest stories to be in advance and just get them on the front pages. Those in power have been doing that forever, focusing exclusively on celebrities, celebrated for their ability to distract, sell propaganda and model rampant consumerism, politicians, those not-too-bright replaceable figureheads standing in for the real powerful who never change and are never in the news, and men with guns, presented as both our greatest fear and our greatest hope to keep the general population in a mood of infantile dependence and insecurity. If citizen journalism is worth anything it should be able to create focus of its own. These are my suggestions for 2014.
Heather states in her Envision This episode that she has a low tolerance for injustice. Her mission and passion thus include:
Working together in a more effective teamwork atmosphere
Human Rights
And personal development
With that said, what are we to do about our planet and the evolution of our lives? Do we continue to focus on meaningless politics while surrendering to the power of The Man, i.e., the corporation?
The Hindu Saint, Ramakrishna, states our current needs best when he asks us to, "dive deep with abandonment and you will find a jewel with every instant." Pick up that jewel! What does it say to you in regards to what you want to unfold from within yourself for yourself, your family and the Earth? Let's tell each other our dreams so a new world order can emerge, replacing the order of sociopathic control freaks that head up the world's governments, banks, multi-national corporations, and religious organizations.
Is their dream the one you truly want? Heather ultimately helps us towards the richness of our dream. Or do you wish to continue seeking the "fool's gold?" Do we blindly "follow the yellow brick road" to gain the blessings of a fraudulent Wizard? What fool does this gold belong to if not the likes of the Koch Brothers, the Monsantos, Wall Streets, and corporate media?
I say we fire these guys and become the power we've been looking for. No more "Rule by Fools!" How do we fire them? Not in a war, for this keeps us stuck in the same pattern. Perhaps love and forgiveness should be given a chance to unfold. Could it be that we simply say that it is time for us to move on?
Violence, fear, and greed --these are the weapons wielded against us; f orgiveness, trust in the tenacity of the life-forces that evolved us, and sharing in and with one another and all the beings with whom we are interdependent--these are the seeds we can plant, even "in the presence of our enemies" (psalm 23). Which do we care to attend to? Which potential will we cooperate in unfolding?
