Typically, our media treated these attempts to control our ladyparts as if they were somehow legitimate. Like there was, in fact, a valid case to be made for preventing women from receiving medical care. Just like they pretended there was a legitimate reason to invade Iraq.
This is Dumbing Down of the most dangerous kind.
I blame Dubya. The national newsmakers had to aim for the lowest common denominator, or Raisin Brain would've driven Cheney/Colin/Condi crazy with questions about budgets and bombs and stem cells and floods and hard stuff like that.
