The Pakistan foreign ministry said in a statement that China and Pakistan had "underscored the need for the international community to provide continued assistance and support to Afghanistan, including through unfreezing of Afghanistan's overseas financial assets".
Nearly $10bn in Afghan assets have been frozen by the US after the Taliban took over the country in a military blitzkrieg in 2021 as the West-backed government of President Ashraf Ghani collapsed.
