Is there any behavior that does not lead to a result? Results can be designated by their distance from the behavior, viz., immediate, intermediate, and distal or end results. My golf ball soaring in the air is the immediate result of my whacking it.
I suppose you could say that the behavior itself is an immediate result. Even the behavior of sleeping yields results. Consider nightmares, e.g.
Consequences
Consequences generally refer to the end results of behavior. I suppose you could say my getting a hole-in-one would be a magnificent consequence of my hitting the ball. My late father had a glorious consequence after his hole-in-one; namely, an invitation to attend a year-end banquet in the capital city for all hole-in-one golfers of that year in Indiana.
