SBC Holdings plc today announces the establishment of a new committee of the Board, the Financial System Vulnerabilities Committee, and separately the appointment of a new non-executive Director of the Company who will be a member of the new committee. HSBC is also appointing five independent advisers to the committee to support its work.
And Comey is NOT one of the "five independent advisers" he is a board Director (presumably well paid).
Getting back to Bernie....
If Clinton is forced out, Sanders has established his party loyalty now by having endorsed her. He is well-positioned to get the nod as next on the bench for the presidential nomination. The question is timing. If the FBI drags on the investigation of perjury like it did the email server investigation, we will be into the next Administration by the time it concludes.
But there are reasons to expect a perjury investigation to be simpler to complete. The testimony is readily available. There is no need to subpoena emails on servers or electronically revive them. There is much less to evaluate, just a few recent hearings. Comey can't let himself be seen as stalling. The Republicans - perhaps pursuing a losing strategy in going after a weakened Clinton - will do whatever they can to speed things up.
If the investigation wraps up soon enough, it may yet be Bernie vs. Donald.
