In a previous interview, Lt Eitan explained that he was instructed by his commander to throw a hand-grenade into the pier where Lt Hadar Goldin disappeared, before entering it.
Now, Haaretz cites Lt Eitan from an interview in Channel 2 news, regarding events that took place on Friday, August 1, 2014, around 9:00 am, when he entered the pier:
"I said that the moment we identify anybody we shoot"... "I knew that even if we kill Hadar, with all the pain, it is better that way."
Both the family of the late Lt Hadar Goldin and Lt Eitan belong to what used to be called the "Religious-National" stream in Israeli politics.
But the "Hannibal Protocol" stands in direct violation of Jewish commandments.
It appears that in recent years this stream has changed it priorities, and should be now considered "Nationalistic-Religious"
